Where adding 12 goes wrong

Adding 12 means splitting it into 10 and 2 — 9 + 12 goes to 19 then 21. Two steps can mean two carries, which is why this range automates later than anything else in the addition set. An answer out by roughly 10 says the tens step was dropped rather than that the fact is unknown.
