A timed sheet on adding 2

Adding 2, from 2 + 0 to 2 + 12. Every problem on the sheet is drawn from that set and nothing outside it.

Choose 20, 50 or 100 problems and a limit of 1, 2 or 5 minutes, then print the sheet with its answer key on page two, or start the timer and type into the same grid. The problems are drawn again every time the page loads, so a second sheet is not a copy of the first. Where adding 2 goes wrong

Adding 2 moves one place along the same odd-or-even track — 7 + 2 = 9, odd staying odd. If the parity of the answer changed, 1 or 3 was added instead. This is the first crossing from counting to recall, and a counting habit left in place here slows down everything that comes after it.

Does adding 2 change whether a number is odd or even?
No. Odd plus 2 stays odd, even stays even — a flipped parity means 1 or 3 was added instead.
Is counting on by 2 acceptable?
As a starting strategy, yes. The aim of a timed sheet is to see it replaced by recall.
What comes after adding 2?
Doubles and adding 10, because both give visible answers a child can check.
