A timed sheet on mixed

Multiplication facts drawn across the whole 0–12 range in random order. Every problem on the sheet is drawn from that set and nothing outside it.

Choose 20, 50 or 100 problems and a limit of 1, 2 or 5 minutes, then print the sheet with its answer key on page two, or start the timer and type into the same grid. The problems are drawn again every time the page loads, so a second sheet is not a copy of the first. Where a mixed multiplication sheet goes wrong

A mixed sheet separates a child who memorised one table as a chant from a child who knows the facts. Drawn in order, answers arrive on a rhythm; shuffled, the rhythm is gone. The same child scoring full marks on an 8s sheet and half on a mixed sheet is common, and that gap is what this sheet is actually measuring.

What does a mixed multiplication test measure that single tables do not?
Recall without the rhythm. In a single table the next answer is predictable; mixed removes that prop.
How many distinct facts can a mixed 0-12 sheet draw from?
169 cells, or 91 once commutative pairs are counted once.
Is a big drop from single tables to mixed normal?
Common, and it is the signal to keep mixing rather than to go back to more single-table sheets.
